World Bank president, Jim Yong Kim To Resign

Jim Yong who is the World Bank president has resigned, Kim whose tenure will expire in three(3) years says he would be stepping down next month from his position.

In his statement, Kim stated that it’s been a great time working with the institution.

“It has been a great honor to serve as president of this remarkable institution, full of passionate individuals dedicated to the mission of ending extreme poverty in our lifetime,” Kim, 59.

Kim became the president of World Bank in 2012 and will be returning to the board of Partners-in-Health, which he co-founded.

Under his reign the World Bank has seen a lot of massive development and transformation and World Bank CEO Kristalina Georgieva will serve as interim president upon Kim’s February 1 departure, the bank said in a statement.
