Blatter Regrets Staying Too Long At Fifa

Disgraced former FIFA president Sepp Blatter, forced out as head of world football’s governing body amid a corruption scandal in 2015 has said he regretted not stepping down earlier.

The 81-year-old was banned over ethics breaches following a suspect two million Swiss franc payment to ex-UEFA president Michel Platini.

Blatter who said he should have stopped earlier, described his expulsion as FIFA boss as “a relief”.

The Former FIFA boss said the introduction of the video assistant review (VAR) system, which was tried at the Confederations Cup in Russia, makes the game lose it attractiveness.
