The President of the United States, Joe Biden, has signed several executive orders
to lift the immigrant visa ban imposed by his predecessor, Donald Trump, on Nigerians.
Biden also overturned the systematic ban imposed on people from Muslim
controlled countries such as Yemen, according to a report by Bloomberg.
Trump levied an immigrant visa ban on Nigeria last February, citing Nigeria’s lack of a robust database.
At the time, the American Ambassador to Nigeria, Mary-Beth Leonard, claimed that Nigeria had to develop its data intelligence to promote the investigation of its people who wished to move to the United States if it wanted to lift the ban.
