The most important persons of 2017 is an honor list of individuals or collective who made enormous mark on the polity irrespective of their status, position, job, industry or finances. For the next five days, we at OnTVsite.com would reveal 50 of the most important persons in 2017. Chude Jideonwo, Adebola Williams, Mark Essien, Toyosi Akerele and some of those that make our Power List, see number 50 – 40 on the list below:.

  1. Muna Onuzo-Iyanam – is an award winning financial literacy advocate for women and a business and communication strategist. She is an internationally certified corporate etiquette, cross-cultural communication, international protocol and business image consultant. She is the Principal Consultant at Personnelty Fit Ltd. She obtained her Etiquette and Protocol certification from the only accredited etiquette and protocol training school in the USA – The Protocol School of Washington. She also holds a Masters degree in Media and Communication from the respected School of Media and Communication, Pan Atlantic University.
    Muna is a brand and business strategist with over 14 years’ professional experience in media, marketing communication, branding, PR, and client service. She has worked in diverse organizations from television to telecommunications and to advertising agencies.

  2. Samaila Suleiman – is the Member of the House of Representatives of Nigeria. He is an All Progressive Congress member representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency of Kaduna State. Born in Kaduna State, Nigeria, in 1981 from a Hausa political dynasty. Suleiman is a son of Alhaji Abdu Suleiman who was an elder statesmen and a prominent politician. Suleiman was first elected into the public office as a local government chairman from Kaduna North in Kaduna State under the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in 2008. He was the only politician to have won local government election under the CPC having shared the same constituency with the then vice president of Nigeria from the then ruling party People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

  1. Samson Itodo – heads of one Nigeria’s foremost youth think tanks on democratic governance and citizens participation, the Youth Initiative for Advocacy, Growth & Advancement (YIAGA). He was the pioneer National Coordinator of the Youth Alliance on Constitution & Electoral Reform (YACORE), the first Youth coalition on constitution and electoral reform in Nigeria. Itodo started as a student union activist at the University of Jos where he held several leadership positions. He was chairman Student Representative Council (SRC) at the Nigerian Law School, Abuja. A lawyer by profession, Itodo has in the last ten years worked on widening civic space for youth in Nigeria and Africa at large. He is a co-founder of Amplified Online Radio; a pan African youth talk and music radio station.

  2. Tony Rex Idaminabo – is a Nigerian lawyer and entrepreneur with an eye for excellence and a heart for rewarding individual efforts. Hence, his setting up of the African Achievers Awards to honour Africa’s most accomplished achievers in politics, diplomacy and entrepreneurship. The Forbes -ranked entrepreneur is also the first West African to be appointed unto the board of the World Leaders Forum.

  3. Toyosi Akerele Ogunsiji – is a Nigerian, Populist Social Entrepreneur and Human Development Expert with over 8 years on – the field experience. She is from Lagos State, Nigeria. She was named by Forbes as one “The 20 Youngest Power Women In Africa. She was also nominated for the MTV Africa Music Awards. She is a Social entrepreneur and Founder of RISE NETWORKS, a Nigeria-based private and public sector funded Youth Interest social enterprise.She is married to Korede Ogunsiji.

  4. Uchenna Jennifer Pedro – is a Nigerian blogger, writer, social media expert and entrepreneur. She is the founder of BellaNaija, an online entertainment, fashion and lifestyle magazine. She was named in Forbes list of “30 Most Promising Young Entrepreneurs in Africa”. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario, Canada.

  5. Victoria Ibiwoye – is a young African leader who is strongly passionate about transforming the lives of marginalized community children through creative learning and empowerment initiatives. She is the Executive Director at One African Children – a non-profit organization through which she leads over a hundred youths in volunteering for the past three years in Nigeria, Cameroon, Malawi, and Zimbabwe.

  6. Nichole Onome Yembra 29, – is the Chief Financial, Risk and Investment Officer for Venture Garden Group (VGC) and a Managing Partner at GreenHouse Capital; VGC’s investment arm. Venture Garden Group is a holding company of financial technology entities dedicated to innovative and data-driven solutions. GreenHouse Capital, which launched formally in April 2016, began investments in startups since 2014 under the VGG umbrella. The company has so far invested in AppZone, TutorNG, Flutterwave and a couple of other start ups.

  7. Onyekachi Ekezie, – 33, is the founder of Kaptain Foods, a Nigerian food processing company based in Lagos. The company produces a range of pre-cooked and packaged ready to eat tomato stews using locally grown fresh produce and spices.

  1. Chude Jideonwo (32) and Adebola Williams (31) are co-founders and Partners of RED — a leading full-service media-content, communication, and development company behind well-known brands like YNaija, Rubbin’ Minds and The Future Awards. The duo built the RED media empire before they turned 30.

  1. Mark Essien – Born December 18, 1980 in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State is a Nigerian entrepreneur, software developer and startup investor. He is the founder and CEO of Hotels.ng, one of the first and most successful online hotel booking websites in Nigeria. Before founding Hotels.ng, Mark Essien had previously built a file sharing software called Gnumm (acquired by Snoopstar.com), followed by a language learning startup called Ingolingo.
