Huge Floods Sweep Southern Japan, Two Dead, 20 Missing

At least two people have been killed and about 20 others are missing in huge floods in southern Japan, with hundreds of thousands of people been asked to leave their homes.

Heavy rain has caused rivers to burst their banks, sweeping away roads and houses, and destroying schools.

Thousands of soldiers and others are battling to reach people cut off by fast-moving water or threatened by landslides.

The government said at least 250 people have been rescued by the soldiers.
